we like small things v2

Filter Photo is pleased to announce an open call for photography-based work that is 10 x 10 inches or less.  we like small things v.2 will be juried by Aimée Beaubien. 

Work in progress, one-offs, inkjet prints, silver gelatin, alternative processes and more.  All types of 2D photo-based work, 10 x 10 inches or less, are welcome for this pin-up exhibition that will showcase smaller work.  This is a call for unframed work only.  Prints will be pinned to the wall to create a studio-like environment.

we like small things v.2 will have a Public Reception concurrent with our other open call, Re/member/construct, on September 28th, 6 – 9 pm during the 2018 Filter Photo Festival.  The exhibition will be held at Filter Space in Chicago’s West Town neighborhood.


About the Juror

Aimée Beaubien‘s cut-up photographic sculptures and installations explore collapses in time, space and place while engaging the complexities of visual perception. Solo and two-person exhibitions include oqbo galerie, Berlin Germany; Gallery UNO Projektraum, Berlin, Germany; The Pitch Project, Milwaukee, WI; BOX 13 Artspace, Houston, TX; Johalla Projects, Chicago, IL, TWIN KITTENS, Atlanta, GA; Marvelli Gallery, New York, NY; BOX 13 ArtSpace, Houston, TX; Demo Projects, Springfield, IL. Group exhibitions include Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago, IL; Evanston Art Center, Evanston, IL; Bikini Berlin, Berlin, Germany; and Antenna Gallery, New Orleans, LA, UCRC Museum of Photography, Riverside, CA. Her work has been reviewed in publications such as Art in America, Art on Paper, and Art Papers. Beaubien is an Assistant Professor of Photography at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
