Darren Ching

Co-Owner and Director, KLOMPCHING GALLERY

Darren Ching is the Co-Owner of the Klompching Gallery in New York. The gallery specializes in the sale and exhibition of contemporary fine art photography, representing an international roster of artists including Helen Sear, Max de Esteban, Odette England, and Jim Naughten among others. The gallery has placed artworks into numerous collections, including notable institutions such as the George Eastman Museum, MoCP, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Darren’s involvement in photography spans more than 20 years, including jurying and curating numerous photo competitions and exhibits; contributing to both online and print publications; and panel presentations on the subject. He’s been a regular portfolio reviewer at photography events in the US and Europe, and as the former Creative Director of Photo District News, he was a perennial judge for its annual 30 Emerging Photographers issue. As an educator, Darren has been an Adjunct Faculty member at SVA, External Examiner for MICA (BFA Photography), Guest Critic at RISD (MFA Photography Final Projects) and most recently lecturing on contemporary magazine photography at Parsons School of Design in New York. In addition to dealing artworks, Darren is a designer, working on select photography-based projects, and is a consultant offering advice and career strategies to all levels of photographers.
